An Uruguayan Repast in Jackson Heights. Yesterday, my spouse and I went into La Gran Uruguaya for lunch. My beverage was a glass of sangra and she ordered ginger ale. My wife chose Goquis, the restaurant’s spelling, with Caruso sauce which was a lunch special. The Caruso was very cream laden. This sauce normally consists of double cream, meat extract, onions, ham and mushrooms. However, if all components were present, they were pured. Nevertheless, the goqui were addictive morsels in the Caruso sauce. The goquis came with a salad. My main course was an asado consisting of entraa, chorizo, and costillas de res with ensalada rusa. I do not recall the name listed on the blackboard special board below the goquis. It was a unique name that I had not heard before. This lunch plate generously included a glass of red house wine. We were sated. I opted for a cortado and my spouse passed up all postres.

La comida rica, el show bueno, buen ambiente…solo que la parrilla trae muchas mollejas, el chico que atiende las mesas es un amor, no asi una de las chicas, que atiende de malas ganas y con malos modos, jamas una sonrisa en su rostro. Recomendable.
