Favorite thing about this place are the multiple different types of tequila cocktails. Cute settings, then the food. The food is just okay. Don’t go here for the food, go here for a incredible cocktails and to munch on the fresh guacamole.
Mexican Cuisine Returns @ Maizal’s Location. 3207 34th Avenue again has a Mexican-themed restaurant after a long hiatus that featured Greek restaurants. This address has had some nice restaurants but none have been able to sustain themselves beyond a handful of years. Maisal is the new inhabitant. May it have a long successful run. Maizal is still awaiting it’s liquor license. In the meantime, it is alcohol free (no BYOB permitted). For starters this evening, my spouse and I had the made to order guacamole in the molcajete. We had a second molcajete on my spouse’s insistence. Do you imagine that she was impressed by the guacamole? Her main course was an appetizer Gen’s Crab Cake Dinner. It consists of two crab cakes and Maisal’s green salad. The beverage was hibiscus iced tea. I could not resist the Fresh Tuna tacos, available from Thursday through Sunday. The tuna is accompanied by a vegetable slaw and a lime/cilantro dressing on homemade corn tortillas. The tuna was cooked through more than I anticipated. Request that they sear it so that the inside remains red as it should be served. My beverage was berry lemonade. Our shared dessert was churros with dulce de leche. I finished with a Mexican hot chocolate. It was a satisfying dinner at Maizal.
