Dominican Chow in College Point. Yes, ManGu serves that uniquely Dominican plate mang. Mang is either green or ripe (maduro) plantains mixed with some of the salted water in which they were boiled to soften and some olive oil or butter (or both) to taste. It is often topped with sauted red onions. It is an economical and tasty breakfast dish, also eaten for lunch and dinner. Yesterday afternoon, though, we ordered the pork ribs from ManGu. Salty, and at first appearing burnt, these ribs are addictive. You can’t stop eating these little bites still on the bone. Whether you wish the namesake dish or some Dominican style proteins, my spouse and I believe that you likely will be very happy.
