What happened to all the old workers? Mela’s used to have some amazing service, the staff are so different now.
I love my dominican food from Washington heights so I went to this place looking for good food and service and I got the opposite! My dinner was a total disaster. The waiter was a jerk bad bad in service! The other joke was the food. The prices are high, the food was just ugh! This is one of those places you just want to forget! the servers are rude! Melas cafe is not a place to have a great dinner! Other thing I’ve noticed is that they can’t stand black people the guy who was our waiter had some attitude with other table just because they were black! I just couldn’t believe it!

But still I see potential and I want them to flourish, most of the food is great just pricey, this is not Manhattan. Its great having a place like this here we really need it, just needs adjustments. There’s a lot of bad roomers going around keeping people astray, but don’t listen to others learn for yourself you might just like it. But definitely if they want families more, better lower the prices. Other than that the service is amazing.
