Favorite place for a late night (or early morning) meal, considering they are open until 5 or 6 AM on weekends and are very generous with their portions. They serve classic Colombian comfort food that will definitely do the trick in absorbing the excess alcoholic beverages you may have consumed. Can’t go wrong with their Bandeja Tipica, which is literally a little bit of everything (arepa, rice, beans, chicharron, etc.) on one large plate. Despite how busy they may get during these hours, food comes out quick.

Good Rotisserie Chicken, Colombian Style. It has been a while since we last had eaten at Pollos a la Brasa Mario in Astoria. Today, we ordered the rotisserie chicken as take out because we had a meeting to attend in about an hour. I have dined at this restaurant with my spouse and with coworkers on several occasions and have found the offerings alright, but nothing to exult. The chicken was tender and juicy, the white breast meat just starting to get that dry mouth feel. Overall, with the seasoning, I would rate it better than your average rotisserie chicken. As is the Colombian way, the spices (oregano is one) are not overpowering, but there is a good amount of salt used in the seasoning preparation. The entraa and sobrebarriga are also worth a try here.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE WORLD. Tonight I experienced the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a restaurant. The manager took my order down wrong (i ordered #40) and he billed me for a #1. When I called to rectify the ordering miscommunication on their end, I was severely disappointed for their lack of accountability for their mistake. It only takes an apology. If customer service means anything to you, DO NOT EAT HERE!
