Decent Dominican Fare in Jamaica. Puerto Plata is a typical steam table Dominican restaurant. I dined on the pernil which was moist and tender. The berenjena guisada (stewed eggplant) was nicely done. The espagueti (spaghetti) has pieces of chorizo.Even though it was overdone, Puerto Plata spaghetti has a pleasant salsa and the spaghetti was soft rather than mushy. The pork ribs are also tasty. I brought mang home that I will have for breakfast tomorrow and add to the review. My mother-in-law did not want the mang when we bought it for her. Update on the mang – decent upon reheating which indicates that it’s initial texture is correctly done. Mang does not lend itself well to second day consumption in my book. Verdict is that this mang is a good one when freshly made based on it being decent upon the reheating of the dish.
