Excellent Food, Great Atmosphere. My husband commutes there on a daily basis and last Saturday, we decided to try out the place. I ordered the chicken parm. and my husband got the Greek salad. That was the best Greek salad he ever had and as for my chicken parm, not only was the meal excellent but I had some leftovers to take home the following day. We will be back!11
Gorgeous Place. One of the big 2 in the area – this one is usually where we end up when we’re on this side of town and craving diner – or meeting the in-laws for brunch – or my boss and I need dinner before a late night meeting (and we’re on that side of town). I have yet to have anything there I hated – the gyros are truly nummy .
Poor service/ marginal food. I have given this diner three separate attempts to redeem themselves. Each time, the service has been terrible and the food only marginal. Today was the third and last time which is a shame since the owner is a nice old man who opened this business just a couple of years ago. My corned beef hash omelet showed up first as a corned beef omelet; and after the waitress disputed what I had ordered she begrudgingly brought me a mystery omelet that I could not eat. Terrible.
Definitely the exception to the rule. In the realm of eateries most people think of diners as the jack of all trades master of none in the sense that they offer everything you could ever imagine foodwise but have nothing that really stands out as great. I think this place is definitely the exception. I’ve been here for breakfast and lunch a lot with good results but I had yet to have dinner here so we stopped in Friday night on the way to visit some friends in Pittsfield. My wife and I both got seafood; salmon and haddock. Definitely the best fish we’ve had in a long time….really flaky, seasoned just right and tasted really fresh…rice pilaf was made perfectly too. Our daughter rarely has more than a few bites of anything and she finished her entire kids meal (spaghetti and meatbals) which surprised us and is our true litmus test for a return visit. Our server was friendly and she checked on us just enough without too much interruption. All in all, great service, nice casual environment and even better food, Will be back next week.
