Go here! I travel for business and was in Rochester this week. I have long days at work and was exhausted & looking for something to eat. I was actually going to the other restaurant in the plaza and saw Abyssinia. I love Ethiopian food and couldn’t resist. I ordered the tomato salad and Kitfo (uncooked as it should be). The staff was terrific, attentive and asked me several times to make sure I knew what I was ordering. When I explained that it was my favorite dish and I was fairly well versed, they seemed impressed and made me feel very welcome.I took my nicely wrapped take-out package back to my hotel and it was amazing! Perfectly spiced and perfectly prepared. I am trying to come up with a reason to go back as soon as possible because I can guarantee you, I WILL be back every time!

Happy for the new location!. The vegetarian sampler platter is one of my favorite treats in Rochester. So glad that they’ve reopened!
Really good, authentic food at a reasonable place. There are great vegetarian dishes with amazing spices and unique spices.
My husband and I ordered the Abyssinia platter. There was at least eight different things on it and every one was unique and delicious! Will definitely be going back soon.
Great vegetarian platter. One of only two Ethiopian restaurants in Rochester, this one has a great combo dish. The vegetarian is actually better than the meat!
Great change of pace! If you want something different and exciting, this is it in Rochester.
