The Best Yet. Rigs with a Bolognese sauce and piles of delicious pork. It was a special but I’m still craving that taste – wow. It’s been years since I’ve been to Roncone’s. It is now clean, run really well, the servers are friendly and smart, and the Chef…come on this guy’s is the best. Where in Rochester can you get food this good? Go there! Oh try the fish parm .yummmmmm
The Best!. This place is just awesome. The staff is wonderful, the owner, the chef, everyone is just great. they start you off with bread baked by Savoia’s. And they fill the basket without you even having to ask. Dinners are wonderful, chicken parmigiana, Chicken French, Lasagna. And you must start off with the calamari Sacilian. A+. Neighborhood is dicy but whatever.
Big dave. Dont pass up a great meal and even a fantastic staff the chef is supurb and the sauce best in rochester !!
Disappointing. It has been awhile, but last Friday we figured we would try Roncone’s for a fish fry. We sat on the bar side and it took 10 minutes just to get a menu. That’s pretty much how the rest of the meal went. I counted four waitresses and two men, three when you include the bartender helping, but to no avail. It was busy, but not as busy as other places we have been that kept up with the customers. The food, when it finally came, was disappointing at best. Probably should have ordered rigatoni and meatballs, their sauce was good in the past.
Roncone’s saved the day. I seldom write reviews… But Roncone’s saved us the other day! We had to have a group meal for 30 people close to Lake Avenue… Somebody suggested Roncone’s. The food, the service and the willingness to accomodate our requests was impressive. We had chicken French, Eggplant Parmesan, calamari, salad and Italian Ice-cream (they had a fancy name for it). It was delicious! The manager (or the owner) Joe was just a joy to work with! Frankly, I didn’t expect food THAT good in that neighborhood… living and learning!
What a pleasant surprise. I never go to this part of Rochester, so when my friend suggested we have a bite to eat at Roncone’s, I was surprised. I was even more surprised at the quality of food – AND how affordable it was! The prices for great appetizers (I had artichoke french) were about $7 and the entrees are about $10-11… The staff is lots of fun as well… So, I would go there again – for a nice adventure downtown…
Best food in Rochester. While visiting Rochester, stopped at Roncone’s and was blown away by everything! Large portions, awesome flavors, wonderful service, great prices. I wish they would open a restaurant here at home! I ate there twice while on visit and want to come back for one more plate! That’s one Diamond in the rough!!!!
