We love the wintonaire as a nice, casual neighborhood restaurant and bar. Unfortunately, tonight they have a band playing. The venue is truly too small for this. To make it even worse, the band was terrible. The Flynn family should stick to good food, cold beer and a friendly apps here to relax in. We will still be here often, but not when they have live music20 Jun, 2012Came here at 8:55 after leaving another restaurant due to bad service. The owner greeted us right away, seated us, introduced our server and told us the dinner menu ended at 9 but we could still order from that menu, they would accommodate us. We have always found good food and gracious hosts here. We will be back again and again. Truly a great Rochester eatery
Mediocre (at best) food. Inconsistent. Just okay service. Way overpriced.
Best Burger in Rochester.. I don’t know about anything else on the menu besides the Bacon Cheese Burger. It’s life altering it’s so good. Every year on my Birthday my wife takes me here for a good old fashioned un healthy heart stopping greasy burger. Most of the time i am a health freak, but i know a good burger and no other place in Rochester is as good. Though the Gate House would be a solid second. Do NOT miss out on the Wintonaire though. the service is also absolutely top notch and any resturant where the owner comes out and asks how our experience was is a great thing! Highly recomended!
Friendly family-run neighborhood restaraunt and bar. Inviting atmosphere, wide selection of beer, good food, lovely service (ask for Stephanie!).
Never a bad meal. This neighborhood joint is within walking distance from our browncroft neighborhood. yes a little loud (sit in the back dining room if it bothers you) dick flynn and his staff bend over backwards for you. the italian chef whips up great specials. his scallops with carmelized onions in a garlic cream sauce to to die for. (dick put it on the menu, just not a special, yum) when i crave a cheeseburger and fresh fried taters (no frozen here) we head over to the wintonaire. i just destroyed a delmonico steak there last week. cooked to perfection. i give the wintonaire a thumbs up!
Terrible. This was easily the worst meal out I have had in long time. The food was just gross. Had a panini with stale boring bread turned inside out, the turkey was small slimey little peices. Burgers and sandwiches served with no lettuce or tomato, and the cheese on the burger was burned to a crisp. The server forgot three of the things that we ordered, and never asked if we would like refills on drinks. The dining room was loud and dirty looking. Bad food and bad service.
Very Disappointing. I was very excited when the Wintonaire opened up just a block from our home in North Winton Village and since they have been open, I have been there 4 times. Unfortunately, each time, I have left disappointed in the food (bland) and the service (inattentive and sometimes rude), but each time I resolved that I would give them another chance. After all, they were just starting out and they were a local restaurant that I very much wanted to see succeed. After what will be our last visit to the Wintonaire last night where the hostess was more than rude to us and then after we told her how unhappy we were, followed us to the door yelling, there’s no getting around it – this is not a nice place. I’m sad to not be able to recommend the Wintonaire, but there are so many better restaurants in Rochester, let alone right in North Winton Village. There is no need to give this mediocre place another try.
