Outstanding food. Before we arrived I may have expected Banchetto Feast to be just another mediocre overrated Italian restaurant, and I was wrong. For my entre I tried the Cavatelli Funghi, a pasta dish with a mushroom sauce, made with several ingredients including gorgonzola cheese, marsala wine, and cranberries. Tagged as a BF original, I was extremely impressed. Banchetto Feast has several original dishes and if they are as well developed as this one, this is likely the best Italian restaurant in the area. I was even impressed with the freshness of the table bread. I received good reports from other diners with me tonight.Aside from the white paper on our table atop the tablecloth, the restaurant was pretty upscale. It is also a bit expensive if you include salads and desserts, or even if you dont. Our server did a fine job. She, perhaps inadvertently, helped by kind of rushing us towards the end of the meal. We had a small child in our group who would have been unhappy had we lingered too long. As it was, the timing was perfect. It looks like for our last night in Nanuet we picked the best restaurant we have visited this trip.
Loved the Feast. I dined at Banchetto’s twice: once was for a major family outing with a party of twenty plus people in a sectioned room, while the other was more intimate and situated within a booth. I recall enjoying the food, as well as the vibe of the restaurant. I also admired the outdoor-seating option. I ordered a variety of antipasti and pasta entrees.
Something a little different. The Italian here isn’t your average. Everything is prepared a little differently. It’s one of my favorite Italian restaurants ever, and I’m ticked off that it closed for the Nanuet Mall makeover. We’ll be trying the temporary headquarters when they open. Also, I don’t know why the price is rated $$$$. Practically anything on the manu can be had for less than $20.
