  A good way to start the day. IHOP is much more than breakfast but with pancakes as part of the name, I always think breakfast. It was breakfast for me this morning, I was one of the first to arrive after they opened at 7am.I was greeted and shown to a table, coffee quickly followed. For my breakfast I had the 2 x 2 x 2, a two egg dish that also comes with two pancakes and two strips of bacon or sausage links. I selected bacon. Their world famous pancakes were thick and fluffy, the bacon strips on the skinny size. It was a good breakfast.In addition to kids, IHOP also has a senior section in their menu. As an old person, I appreciated saving a dollar on my breakfast this morning. Service was not as sharp as I would have liked. We started off ok, and once I got my order in it only took about 6 minutes before my food arrived. My coffee came with a coffee pot so I could pour my own refills, easy. Things went array when I finished my breakfast. Im by myself, had my credit card out and visible, and had stacked up my plates. My server came by and picked up the plates, that was good, but failed to return with my bill for over 8 minutes. Knowing I intend to review my visit I have gotten into the habit of timing things so I dont fall into the seems quick or seems long mindset but not sure how long it has been. Anyway, it took longer to get my bill than it took to cook and deliver my food. Eight minutes seems long when you are just sitting there by yourself drinking coffee and looking out the window. This is a pay the server restaurant, and once I did get the bill the rest went normal speed. This IHOP is located in the Spring Valley Market Place, part of a long stretch of storefronts. Even still, it has that iconic high pointed roof and signature blue color.
