Great, and mean really great Caesar salad made from scratch right at our table. Alligator empanadas and wild boar sausage appetizers were a delightful and tasty departure from the norm. The NY sirloin was a perfect medium rare and was one of the best steaks I have ever had- tender, juicy certified angus. My wife had a stripped bass special over wilted spinach with a light beurre blanc sauce which she raved about . The service was polite and professional. The only complaint I can muster is that the portions were so generous that we had no room for dessert. Instead we had cappuccinos out in the bar area where there was a five piece jazz band. It was a truly exceptional evening- first class from start to finish! We dine out about three to four times a week and the 76 is now on the top of our list.

Atrocious. The website showed us a lovely old colonial tavern atmosphere. We reserved a table and on arrival were ushered into a room that looked like a Holiday Inn with colonial-looking wallpaper. The food and service were truly bad. It is really a shame this historic site does not offer a nice dining experience.
Very bad food. I take my wife there and my mother i never get very bad and not taste food in rockland i am spanish but i love food very bad
Go for the food, enjoy the history. I just had the most compltely enjoyable dinning experience. Greeted by great live jazz, served a great cocktail by Tara the bartender and then was seated in front of the fireplace for an exceptional meal of osterich, rack of lamb and an obviously homemade chocolate ganache. My date had a macadamia nut crusted mahi-mahi that she raved about. A GREAT FIND!!!! Not a history buff but the menu says it is america’s oldest reaturant. BRAVO!
