What a busy and fascinating place. Boy was it busy on this Saturday following Thanksgiving. This was no hidden gem, this was a very well-known gem. Lots of parking yet not enough and cars were jockeying around trying to get positioned for any spot that might open up. What could bring so many out to face the crowds and parking challenges?Inside this almost non-descript looking building is a fascinating experience. They have a huge amount of bread and bagels and other bakery items. In one area there were tray after tray and bin after bin of bagels and bread, some items so freshly baked you can pick one as they slide down from a baking machine. Grab a bag and start loading up.Once you have filled your bag there is another room with more temptations. I did not get a good look, too crowded for me today, but visions of cakes and pies and pastries danced in my head, visions from looking at their website before I arrived. As I stood outside and watched, customer after smiling customer walked out with bags of baked goods.I should also mention they have a deli where you can have them construct a sandwich.I did not try a sandwich but I was able to try a bagel, a couple of biscotti, and some Christmas cookies. All were great. This is a volume place with inexpensive items, and did I mention the wonderful smells? You owe it to yourself to stop by.
I have been going here for rolls, bagels, pastries for as long as my memory serves me… It’s heaven…. You can’t beat their quality and selection.
Best Ever. Best bakery ever! I love this place. Parking is a nightmare but it is worth the wait. The breads and rolls come off the conveyor belt right into your shopping bag. It CAN NOT GET ANY FRESHER!
Best Challah in 500 miles!. Moved away over 10 years ago, and still have my parents bring egg rolls and challah with them when they visit! Grocery store bread should be a crime!
HAND PICKING AT IT’S BEST. What is it that makes this bakery better than the rest?1) Finding a parking space just in front of the door!2) Walking in and they just got done baking fresh rye bread!3) Finding fresh and warm out of the oven Challah!4) Having your mouth water looking at all the delectable deserts5) Driving 50 miles out of the way on Thanksgiving day and being able to be waited on and out of the store in under 15 min. When are you going to start delivery up here in Lewis County?……..Please !!!
I dare you to find a better piece of bread!. When wandering about in Rockland, you’ll know if you’re near Rockland Bakery on smell alone. Baked goods a plenty found here. Don’t skip this place AT ALL!
Best. By far THE BEST bakery in the county… I’ve driven miles out of my way to get baked goods from here rather than other places.Food: 10/10This is an Atkins dieter’s worst nightmare. Giant ovens with conveyer belts filled with warm baked breads available for the taking. The thrill of going to the bakery is cherished by adults and children alike.Parking is horrible all the time.
