Mrs. T.. Cornells was my favorite restaurant until the last 2 years. It seems they have taken advantage of us one too many times, 1st-over pricing wine. 2nd wine was close to vinegar-waitress said its your taste buds-it was vinegar to two of us. 3rd. breading on the veal twice as thick as the veal & 4th charging extra for homemade pasta and not telling us. Bye-nice knowing you and hope everyone wakes up to your tricks.

A family owned and family operated, friendly, intimate dining setting! This is what you find when you walk into Cornell’s Italian restaurant. A bit of Little Italy right here in downtown Schenectady. Try any of their fantastic dishes, beverages, and desserts! I especially recommend their chicken marsala. It is the best in the area! No question.

An enjoyable experience. I had been to Cornell’s once before they moved to N. Jay St. That time I had a special which was the most delicious Ossa Bucco I’d ever had. After that, I called a couple of times to see if it was available again, and when I was told it wasn’t, I didn’t bother to return. We recently were invited to celebrate an anniversary dinner at Cornell’s so I didn’t have to make a decision based upon the availability of this delicious dish. For our party of six, four appetizers were ordered: Hot Antipasto; Calamari Marinara; Clams Casino; and Tortellini w/ Prosciutto, Peas and Vodka Cream Sauce. While the Clams Casino, topped with a mixture of bacon, pimentos, horseradish and bread crumbs, had a sour flavor that I couldn’t identify, the Italian bread (Perreca’s?) was fantastic dipped in the wine sauce left in the clam casino serving dish. The other three dishes were excellent, especially the calamari which was sauted with onions, mushrooms and a touch of white wine. For my entree I ordered Sea Bass off the nightly special menu. It was perfectly cooked to retain its moisture with a bit of butter and wine. The side of linguini with sauce was very good. My wife ordered a Three Cheese Veal dish off the special menu also. I don’t recall which cheeses were in it but it tasted delicious. I recall that two other people ordered the Zuppa di Pesce from the special menu and were surprised that it was served with a red sauce, but I believe that is the Southern Italian style. They said they thoroughly enjoyed their meals.A variety of wines were enjoyed by all and three desserts were shared around the table. A mango tartufo was the real stand out of the three.Service was impeccable. A variety of staff kept the water glasses filled, cleared dirty dishes and glasses, and one server even sang to a couple at our table who were getting married later this month. It was an overall wonderful dinner and experience. I didn’t get to see the itemized bill so I’m not providing any prices, but I know that we averaged about $50 per person before tip.

Delicious authentic Italian food. Best homemade cavatelli I’ve ever had. And they make calamari in tomato sauce just like my grandmother’s. A++

Nice atmosphere, Good food. We dined here the other night while in town and were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, with our squash risoto being the best part of the meal. The ambiance was rather charming. There are several rooms that you can be seated in depending on how busy there are, but all looked to be very nice. The only bad part of the evening was the time it took for the food to arrive between courses. The staff was very apologetic but never did explain why it was taking so long. We would try this place again to see if the problem was corrected. Overall, not bad.
