Nearly an hour wait in the restaurant on a Monday for a sub and a grilled veggie sandwich! After the waitress forgot our appetizer, we asked where our food was she got angry, then screwed up ringing out our food and double charged our card. The food is really good but not a fan of the attitude from the staff. Order out.
Just had the personal pizzas. They all were good. More expensive than they should be, but good. Antipasti was very good. Wings r expensive and come dry with sauce on the side. Defeats the whole purpose of the sauce if u ask me. Desserts were excellent. The place was packed and service was very good.
Upper Union Street, Schenectady is a virtual restaurant row, and Home Style holds its own against three other restaurants with pizza in their name. I like Home Style’s pizza, love the baked goods and gelato. I have also been at functions where Home Style has been the caterer and felt their clients were well served.
Just decent, nothing to write home about. We ordered 2 individual size pizzas. I was worries these might be smaller than I wanted, but they were a good size. We both still had leftovers. The pizza was good, the toppings tasty, but it doesn’t rank anywhere near my favorites. The service was fine. I did notice the staff fraternizing a bit too, but it wasn’t very busy. I don’t think I would have ordered pasta or anything like that off the menu although it did look like they had nice gelato and pies. The place is kind of in a weird niche, not quite the neon sign pizza joint but not a restaurant you’d go to and take seriously. It was open and had decent pizza when we wanted some so, can’t complain, but if the Fireside or Scottis were open I would still probably rather go for pizza there.
Extremely slow service and poor quality food! If the original owners knew how far the quality has fallen at the expense, at the expense of their hard work and family name, they would buy the current owners out. They have great pizza. Don’t order anything else. I had linguini and white clam sauce and it came in no sauce/cream sauce, after a 45 minute wait for my meal. My wife had seafood stuffed sole, with no seaford. Her asparagus was improperly prepared. Her risotto was WAY overbooked. Before we were seated, I was graces with a cook (dressed in white) expressing her love life to another coworker (dressed in black), in detail.
Service was slow, tables we not completely clean, my dinner had asparagus & it wasn’t trimmed first -& my resoto was over cooked my husband had pasta with white clam sause – no flavor @ all – how does an italian restaurant not use garlic??
