Wonderful food at very reasonable prices. Our wait was a little long but it was super busy. Monday lunch crowd. Five people ate for $74 with non alcoholic drinks. Everyone loved their food, and the waitress was very attentive. I would definitely visit again, great job!

Fabulous!! I had the eggplant and sausage Capri al Vincenzo with ziti. House made pasta that was outstanding! The portions are huge so plan to share with friends or bring 2/3 of it home!

Great place! My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary. The food was okay, but the staff really makes the place amazing. Our server was Jojo, he was a jubilant ball of courteous energy. He made absolutely sure that we had a great evening.

Good Italian food in a nice atmosphere.. Why should an Italian restaurant in the heart of Schenectady be busy on a Monday night? Especially if there is no show playing across the street at Proctors. While I still dont know the answer to that question, Im a believer that you should make a reservation to be on the safe side.Fortunately, we were able to be seated right away. My wife had been here once before, so she knew enough to request a table in the bar area where the din of conversation from all the people was less than in the back room dining area.Weve had nachos with tortilla chips and Irish nachos with potato chips and fries, but weve never had Italian Nachos ($10.25) with fresh fried pasta, topped with sweet Italian sausage crumbles, diced Roma tomatoes, Calamata olives, and a creamy Italian cheese sauce. This could have been a meal for one, or an appetizer for three or even four. The fried pasta reminded me of the leftover dough that my Ukrainian Grandmother would fry after making pierogi, except she sprinkled powdered sugar on hers. To its credit, the kitchen did a nice job on this concoction. The pasta was crisp and not greasy, the sausage was plentiful, and the cheese sauce did not drown everything. My wife ordered the Sausage & Eggplant Capri al Vincenzo ($17.25) layers of thin sliced eggplant with sweet Italian sausage, topped with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella. Their house-made ziti was served on the side. She really enjoyed the tomato sauce and for the second time said she believes it tastes as good as what is served at DRaymonds her favorite.I had decided on the Sicilian Cowboy ($14.95), not realizing at first that I would be ordering a hamburger. But that was not a problem since I was attracted by the blend of hand chopped short rib and brisket topped with crispy bacon, Fontinella cheese and sage truffle oil, served on a Brioche bun with a side of truffle parmesan fries. I asked for medium-rare and it that was the way it came out. The bacon was nice and crispy as advertised, the all the flavors blended well. What surprised me was that I didnt enjoy the fries as much as I thought I would. I think the truffle flavor was too strong on the fries which were otherwise nicely done.Too full to even look at the dessert menu, we concentrated on finishing our drinks, Guinness ($6/pint) and a Summer Shandy ($6). Service was mixed, as in several individuals stopping by to check on us, yet three requests to three different individuals was necessary to get replacement napkins since the originals were needed to clean up a spill. Also, while it may have been an honest mistake, a casual check of my credit card online a week later, showed that my credit card had been scanned twice for two different bills. So far, management has been very responsive in correcting the problem.28 Mar, 2013Opening Friday, March 29, 2013. This restaurant is part of the Mallozzi group. While it is normally closed on Sundays, it will open on those Sundays when special events or holidays are occurring and when shows are scheduled across the street at Proctors theater.

Great meal!. My husband and I decided to take our college age daughter and her boyfriend out to an Italian dinner on the Monday night before New Year’s eve. Since our local favorite Marios was not open we decided to give Johnny’ s a try. I am an Italian American who makes her own sauce and rarely find a restaurant sauce I truly enjoy. I ordered veal park and it was truly delicious. The veal was tender and the sauce was not acidy and was slightly sweet. The pasta was homemade and very tender. My daughter ordered the pasta Olivia Gui Gui and it was a pink cream sauce that was very light tasting for a cream sauce. She is very picky and she loved it. My husband had white clam sauce with enough fresh clams and finished every bit. My daughter’s boyfriend had a short rib and brisket hamburger with parmesan fries which he said was delicious. All in all the prices were not bad for the level of cuisine. Service was a little grumpy but they were extremely busy so there was a packed atmosphere where we were seated. I truly enjoyed this meal and it had a old fashioned Italian atmosphere in the dining area, kind of like When my dad took us to Italian restaurants in downtown Albany in the 60’s. I will definitely go again.

Excellent food and service! Food to cost ratio is right where it should be. Will definetly return. Good family atmosphere as well for those with children.

Horrible service!!! Other tables received their meals before us when seated after us. Additionally, not once were we ever updated about the progress of our food. When questioned about the progress I received nothing but a nasty and unprofessional retort from our server Don. Will definitely not be coming back and make sure people I know dont patronize this place. The Mallozzi group bit off more than they can chew and should focus more on quality rather than having a big corporation mentality. Sad to say especially being born and raised in Schenectady!
