Great place to eat!. We went to on a snowy Saturday night despite reading previous reviews and we are happy we took the chance. We had great food and service and Mexican Radio in Schenectady. We were seated right away. Denis, our waiter, was attentive and kind. Our food was excellent and full of flavor. We ordered chips and salsa, the Mexian Roll Ups (highly recommend), black bean and squash soup, tortilla soup and a kids taco meal. Everything came out hot, and timely. We didn’t wait long for our food and the entrees were timed perfectly after our appetizers. We highly recommend Mexican Radio!

Best Mexican Around. I went to Mexican Radio in June right after they opened and the food was ok and the service was slow. I recently went back and enjoyed it very much. While the food can be a bit pricey it is delicious. I got a steak and goat cheese enchilada. They get their goat cheese from local Coach Farms and it was fantastic. The sauce on top was outstanding, spicy and fresh. Our server, Brittany, was super helpful and answered all our questions. The place was busy, it was Friday night. We were not rushed but the food came out pretty quickly. I will definitely go back again. It’s a beautiful place, sports on in the back bar and great food and service. If you went and had a bad experience you should try again. It’s worth it!

What a beautiful job they have done on renovations to that building. How sad it will be when it is empty with in 5 years. Went on a Monday eve. Not the busiest time to go but it was happy hour and not a single person sat at the bar. We were 1 of 3 tables that I could see. I hope it picked up for the staffs sake. Of course seating was immediate, met at the door and sat upstairs. Waiter was also immediate with greetings and drink offers. Friend and I both got a flavored margarita. Both very good and different prices of $8 and $11. Why? Didn’t notice any premium ingredients. I got the chili rellenos, 2 good size peppers but bland in flavor. This is my favorite Mexican dish and probably the worst I’ve had. Not horrible, just bland. Came with choice of beans and rice or a house salad. I chose the salad. Delicious but small. The drsg was wonderful. They try to disguise how small the salad is by serving it on a small plate. My friend got a burrito. He seemed to enjoy or at least he offered no complaints. He is familiar with the radio for he really likes the 1 in Hudson. I thought the prices were expensive. It’s certainly the most expensive Mexican restaurant I’ve been to and I’ve been to at least 15-20 different from NY to FL to the Carolina’s to Seattle and NE. Don’t really think I’ll come back here.

Contrary to others reviews. A friend & I went on a Saturday and had two of the brunch specials. We were seated immediately, drink & food orders taken very quickly. The food came within 10 minutes, was hot and delicious. The waitress gave us soda refills without us asking (included in brunch special). I will definitely go back. The only negative I have is that the parking area is several buildings away, It was pouring when we left & we were soaked by the time we reached the car.

The building is beautiful and they spent a lot of time and money renovating it and you will be paying for it with everything you order. I ordered the tres tacos and while I appreciated being able to get a different filling for each of the tacos, I have never eaten blander steak or pulled pork in my life. I don’t think they even used salt during the cooking process. The soft corn tortillas fell apart instantly, which can happen, but can be easily remidied by using double tortillas. You also have to pay for the chips and salsa. When have you ever gone to a sit down Mexican place and had to pay for chips and salsa? One margarita (small), chips and salsa and the three tacos with rice and beans was over $30. For one person! I have had much better food with much better prices off food trucks. I would gladly pay a premium if they did something interesting with the food or if it was exceptionally good but Mexican Radio delivered neither of those things and the beautiful atmosphere just doesn’t make up for it.

I applaude the MR team for their creation of such a wonderful space, but the kitchen/wait staff seem to be a mess even months after opening. I’ve been to this place three times now and our last trip was the worst. My mom ordered fish tacos with hard shell. They came out with soft shell so we sent them back, next them came out hard shell but with beef instead of fish!?! Things got fixed after 15 minutes of waiting for what should have been a simple switch. I asked that they remove that from the bill but was instead offered free flan. Mom loved the flan so that helped, but when the final bill came it wasn’t our bill at all and I had to clear that up. Hopefully this place can get all their troops on the path to success, I want to like them.
