Meat, bread, meat, cheese, meat, lettuce, meat, russian dressing…did I mention meat? It’s actually hard to get your mouth around the sandwiches! They don’t have a varied menu – 5 sandwich choices, soup of the day, and a few sides – but what they do they do well. If you eat in they have about 40 beers available – one for every palate. Yet another Schenectady institution.

A true American bar, in the best sense.. It’s long, narrow, dimly lit most of the time, and has sandwiches that provide two meals. If you want that non-glitzy, but very comfortable place to go have or share a drink and maybe some light food, this is the perfect place. For fun, try to pick the decade you step into when you go there. It’s that kind of easy there.
