I’ll be taking people there, often!. I hadn’t been to the Turf for decades, but recollection that it was a ‘quiet’ place made it my choice for having a heart-to-heart with my grandson. I opted for the prime rib special, while Russ was satisfied with pasta, sauce, and asparagus. I got exactly the meal I asked for, served by an incredibly polite and professional waitress. I ranked it ‘five out of five’ across the board.
Never Again!. We were there for dinner this evening 8/5, 5:30. We were early arrivals and there were few others in the restaurant when we first arrived. One of my companions and I split the Triple Play appetizer platter. The bruschetta was soggy, the stuffed mushroom cap over done and dry. Our third companion had the Sesame chicken skewers and found them inedible. Our salads came overwhelmed with dressing , perhaps to try to hide the fact that the salad wasn’t fresh and the spring greens were wilted! Two of us ordered the surf & turf and we asked for our petit filet mignon to be medium…both came out over cooked and tough and the lobster was bland, tough and stringy – not moist and sweet, no amount of butter could improve it. One companion ordered the Veal Savannah and the only flavor it had was that of the overwhelming salt in the dish. None of us finished our meals and we didn’t bother with dessert…we had been disappointed enough. Considering their prices, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!
Great Local Rest.. I have always liked this place. Never had a bad meal, decent wine list and they pour a good drink. Prices are reasonable as well. We had an anniversary party for my in-laws here and they did a great job. Nice buffet with one of the better sliced sirloins I have had and I am not a big buffet fan of any kind. Reminds me of the local steak houses my parents used to take me to in the late 60’s and early 70’s.
Love this place… Great value for the $$ , especially the specials. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Great service !
We’ve been here three times and had terrific meals each time. Good selection of dishes and reasonable prices. Service has been uniformly friendly. Favorite dish– Crabcake&Filet Tower. Hmmm…we’re about due for another visit!
