The Deerhead Lakeside Restaurant & Baris evolving from a Classic Americanastyle restaurant that your grandparents knew & loved to a uniquely craftedmenu style eatery, which is delicious. The owners are reengineering their cocktail & food menusand the results are mouthwatering. Firstyou need to start with a Craft cocktail like the Blackberry Mojito, which isrefreshing & smooth. Next, try an appetizer like the Eggplant Napoleon or the 5 Cheese Stuffed Banana Peppers or theCanadian favorite Poutine. The Eggplant Napoleon was outstanding. This was the best eggplant that I ever hadand the marinara sauce was light & favorable. I recommend that you go to the DeerHead just for cocktails& appetizers. Classic DeerHead Characteristics:What is still the same at the DeerHead restaurant is thepicturesque view overlooking the North end of Cayuga Lake. No matter which season it is, there is alwayssomething going on the lake or at Cayuga Lake State Park. One of the classic & continuing features of the DeerHeadis the fully stock salad bar. The Saladbar contains lots of choices and is a meal in itself. The wait staff provides a friendly & family atmosphere. The owners are embarking on a journey of imaginativecocktails & dishes to make every dining experience a journey into deliciousheaven. I strongly encourage you to takethe journey out to the North end of Cayuga Lake & enjoy the gastric pleasuresavailable at the DeerHead restaurant.
Amazing food and brilliant view of the lake. I had the Prime Rib Oscar (with asparagus and crab meat under a Bernese sauce). The meat was perfectly cooked, flavorful and literally fell apart on the fork. We sat at a table that had an amazing overlooking view of the Cayuga Lake.
Stay Away. I don’t know. Locals seem to enjoy this place (don’t get it) however; the place is dirty & lots of flies! We arrived at approximately 5:00 PM the beginning of dinner hour and the salad bar was half empty, the lettuce was wilted & overall not very exciting. My scallops weren’t cleaned (the membrane that is supposed to be cleaned/taken off was on each and every scallop) and the sauce was terrible without flavor. You could see a little butter floating on top but overall it appeared as though the sauce was nothing but water! My friends onion soup was somewhat flavorful however; the bread was way tooo much. Wouldn’t recommend this place. Nor would I go back
