Delicious Sandwich. I went on the weekend and the young people behind the counter were very courteous and made a delicious Reuben for me. In fact, they even brought it to my table. Although it is not a fancy place, it’s cozy and that was all I needed on this dreary and cold Syracuse day. Onward!
Delicious. Great sandwiches, their list of sandwiches is awesome or you can create your own! Have ordered from here many times, always quality food.
The BEST Caterer in town!. I have use A La Mode for catering at least 30 times now and have never been disappointed. Lasagna, Chicken Marsala, wraps, sandwich samplers, they’ve all been delicious! They also provide me with what ever number of bottles of water and/or diet/regular soda I request. And the dessert tray? Beg for brownies, Jeannie’s are wonderful! They’re prices are excellent and the help is priceless.
I just read a very friendly response from the new owner of Ala Mode to my past review regarding stale stretch bread being used in their sandwiches. She explained a dilemma of either not having enough bread and running out or ordering too much and having to freeze it. She has made arrangements with Pasta’s Daily Bread to alleviate this problem. Kudos to Jeanne for positively addressing a negative review! I am looking forward to visiting Ala Mode some time this week.17 Feb, 2011A la Mode used to make fun, delicious sandwiches on a foundation of the best bread in the city (Pasta’s Daily Bread). Sadly, since this new ownership, the once amazing sandwiches are now often made with stale, tough Pasta’s bread. Not only does this mean an inedible sandwich, it also gives Pasta’s Daily Bread a bad name. That said, they do make a very yummy chili and an incredibly delicious mac & cheese, just stay away from the sandwiches!
VAST IMPROVEMENT. I think the new owners of A La Mode have done a phenomenal job with the place!! I had a panini and it was amazing. The staff was super friendly and fun. The portions are bigger and the prices are smaller and the place looks amazing! Great job cleaning the place up!! I’ve seen this place change owners many times and finally someone got it right!
New Ownership as of July 2010!!. A La Mode Cafe is under new ownership. It has been completely remodeled, all new staff and a brand new menu!!! You can still find some of your old favorites on the menu, but tons of new stuff too!! Check out the new website at http://www.alamodecafeandcatering.com. Delivery and pickup available all day everyday!! New owners have tons of food experience and are excited to join this community!
Is this place serious?. Place is trash. I knew people who worked there and I’ve heard the stories about what goes on at this place. Avoid it at all costs.
