Very bad experience overall. The waitstaff was not helpful. We had an issue with her coming out as she served appetizers telling us 2 of our 4 orders they were out of. We had lighter fare salads, appetizers and pitas. I ordered a tabouleh salad. It was a diced cucumber and tomato for $11 very unhappy with portion size and even taste. I would not go back or reccomend.

Had high hopes for a Greek resteraunt a little closer to home, but will not come back. Tabbouleh salad was $11 but only 1 cup of chopped onions, cucumbers and tomatoes – no bulgur wheat, mint, or parsley – a disappointment.

Had very high hopes…restaurant was near empty at 6pm, first bad sign. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately food was not. Spanikopita was dense, cold and tasteless. Moussaka seemed burnt and had a very unappetizing mouthfeel. Could have great potential as a great Greek restaurant but this visit was highly disappointing.

The ekmek homemade dessert was out of this world! Best dessert available in Syracuse.

Unexpected Delight. Had dinner at Black Olive tonight and it was a much more than expected. Fresh flavors cooked to perfection. Ordered lamb medium rare and it was perfect. It had a nice crust on the outside while the meat was tender and juicy. The Greek fries were a new flavor for me. French fries covered with feta and lemon. It sounds like an odd combination, but it was very good. The highlight of the night was the hummus. Black Olive is my new favorite hummus.Service was very attentive and helpful in making food choices. There was no rush to get us out of the table as soon as we were done eating and we were encouraged to relax and take as much time as we wanted. We will be back.
