Mrs.ajamian-stagnitta. Went there for my birthday for the first time visiting byblos and wanted my childhood sweet named knafi they were all gone they don’t last more than two days the waitress said we will have to call in all of syracuse knafi does not exist special stuff it is worth the wait for me and we my husband and i ordered the meat special usually after five the menu said the waitress said since it is slow we will accomadate you it was a delight we chose tabouli for our salad which they served first and got humus and babaganooj best in town although i like my houmus a little more lemonny that is authentic lebaneese cuisine any way the meat arrived so cute and how befitting my birthday it looked like a smile cute food and tastee we both agreed we got roasted beef , chicken and kefta which is a scwered meat roasted has onion and parsley and spices grilled i believe and garlic sauce to dip meat in and pita very warm and thin like that bread and a big peace of backlava with walnuts that made my birthday special we were happy and it cost for two only 24.99 dessert included not bad at all and did i mention tabouli was like mom makes perfect i could have ate more it so good for us tabouli yamahlaha means how beautiful in every way ck it out to go not much space there call orders in you will get faster service as there is only one girl who takes orders in byblos over all i went the food is why i went there nothing else i got what i wanted the best food in town i think
Only so-so. Went for lunch at 12:30pm and just ordered a gyro – had to wait 25 minutes. It was as if they just weren’t set up to do lunch. The fries were hot, the gyro barely lukewarm. It was OK but nothing special, I’ve had just as good all over the US. I don’t like to waste time at lunch so next time it’ll be Darwin or Mimi’s.
Update. The prices seem to have shot up since Guy Fieri showed up, and the food is really overpriced for what you get – 13 bucks for a couple pieces of chicken, a couple tablespoons of hummus and rice, and barely a half cup of lettuce. They are incredibly slow, which usually means fresh cooking, but stuff always seems luke warm. The food is OK, but I think it’s lost some of the quality and innovation – I do get the feeling that they are riding on the Food Network attention. [Original review]We actually stopped in for the first time on the day they were preparing for the Guy Fieri taping. Although they were technically closed, they welcomed us in and let us order. I wanted to try the basic gyro for my first experience, and it really was great – a perfect, light tzatziki sauce, warm pita, romaine lettuce (instead of that shredded iceberg garbage so many places still insist on using), and good-quality gyro meat. My only negative/neutral comment is that it was relatively small and probably needed a side to be considered a meal. They also were extremely slow, but I don’t think I can comment on that, given the fact that they were technically closed. They have an expansive menu with prices ranging from very reasonable (some Mediterranean-style pizzas, e.g.) to more expensive entrees. The decor is pretty interesting, but I wonder what their plan is for diners – they only have 2-3 small tables in a very cramped dining area (about the size of a small dining room, with a large sliding-door cooler (like you see in a convenience store) taking up a lot of room. I think take-out is the best option at present. I will definitely return to sample a wider array of what they have to offer.
Awful Experience. Though serving tasty falafel…they forgot our reservation, forcing us to take a trip to the Dinosaur BBQ for a drink while we waited. It seemed as though many of their personally recommended items were not available. Service was poor, capped by our server answering a personal phone call on her cell phone. Once we got our food (served in to-go foam containers) our expectations were further lowered with run of the mill spanakopita and a canned apple pie filled baklava. This was by no means a pleasant experience…we will not return and in hindsight should have just stayed at the Dinosaur BBQ.
Highly Recommend. The food was fabulous. I ordered Kibbeh balls, meat pies, hummus and rice pilaf. Kibbeh balls were delicious right down to the filling and pine nuts. Hummus perfect combination of lemon and garlic, not many get that right!! Meat pies, although different than we make and than I expected, delicious! My kids will love all of it!! Thanks so much, we will be back and best of luck to you!
