The coffee made me gag because it was full of grounds. They don’t use coffee filters it was like drinking something very gritty. Aside from drinking the grounds the coffee was terrible. The desserts are pathetic.
Great Spot Downtown. I was new to Syracuse, had to visit the courthouse area. Kubal was nearby and I stopped in to kill some time. It’s a great spot, very comfortable, and hassle-free. On a cold day, the coffee was hot & flavorful, and so were the pastries. it was a good spot to see what was going on in the center of Syracuse. (I guess it’s the center) I wished I could have stayed longer.but I had an appointment to keep. I’ll stop by there again, maybe a Saturday, when I have time to linger. There’s a museum downtown that I want to take a look at.
Delicious coffee. Great service. Very eclectic feel. I love going in and sitting at a sewing bench or door-turned-table. Great place to sit and chat with friends. Definitely a new place to stop on my way home from work. 🙂
A Shame. It’s a shame the Cafe isn’t LGBT friendly, the manager’s father is the freak with a bullhorn at all LGBT events telling them they’ll all burn in hell. Although I am not LGBT I will not patronize a place that doesn’t accept the LGBT community.
Awesome Java. Just found this place and I can’t believe I have not heard about it. Best coffee I have had in quite some time. I’ve lived in many countries (Foreign Service Officer) and there coffee is on par with local Brazilian and African coffee I have had at restaurants after diner. Boy did their coffee bring back memories! Matt is also the nicest guy (and owner). The man (and Chris!) knows roasting and is an encyclopedia of information about coffee methods. Outstanding coffee, outstanding quality, outstanding service. You made me a believer of getting good coffee in the US again.
Lovely spot in the city. On the edge of the Sacred Melody Plaza in Eastwood nestles Cafe Kubal — a tiny coffee place that you might overlook during your busy day. But come back when you have time to relax! It’s got a cute seating area outside, and they serve the most delicious, thick hot cocoa in the world. They also make wonderful salads and desserts. I’m a tea drinker, so I haven’t tried the coffee, but I’ve heard rave reviews from those who have. In the winter, they have some homemade soups to warm your bones, and a few stools and tables inside where you can read the paper and watch the snow coming down.
