Ordered the bacon stuffed waffle with egg and cheese. I wasn’t really sure if this was going to taste like a normal breakfast or blow me away. It blew me away. Perfectly made and dead on taste wise. I’m not a huge waffle fan, but Funk’n Waffles could change that! It was hard to find. If you are not from the area and following the map be sure to look up. There is a sign above a hair place that sends you down the alley and some sketchy stair case to a different world. It’s very nice inside this place.
The place is grrroooossssss!!!. No reason to go except that is ‘cool’ to like it.
The food was spectacular and the vibe is excellent. However, the counter service is confusing and the wait time is a little excessive.
Don’t come if you are in a hurry. And if you order the monte crisco (waffle, fried egg, ham & swiss) be sure to say if you don’t want a runny yolk. I didn’t and they kindly remade mine rather than just nuking it. The meal was delicious. If you get it be sure to add a small bit of syrup. Yum!
Waited 1.5 hours for 2 waffles and they weren’t even that amazing when we got them. Not impressed.
The waffles are amazing, especially the chicken and waffles with hot sauce and turkey/stuffing waffles. If you can get past the cluttered, unorganized, and somewhat dirty/hippie interior, you’ll love the food.
Great food, fun atmosphere, and funky music! The waffles are cheap and there are always new and fun options even with create your own!!
