I tried the brisket sandwich, it was interesting but as some of the meat was fatty and tougher than I’d like, I wouldn’t get it again. My husband’s fish and chips on the other hand was plump, perfectly cooked fish with a light coating and was delicious. The waiter was friendly and helpful. The dining room is a wonderful mix of tin ceilings, etched glass, tiled floors and transports you to a different time and place. Noisy pub background, but not unpleasant. We will come again and next time I’m getting the fish and chips!
Great food, wonderful atmosphere. I very much enjoyed the fried fish and chips. I’ve had a few other entrees that were all very good. The beer is on the pricey side for downtown Syracuse, but there is a reason why it is always filled with customers. Great food and great music.
Good wings!
The food was good. Had the fish&chips….would recommend that they change their fish batter; kind of salty. Fries were frozen; would be much better if they were made with fresh potatoes. Service was excellent.Guinness was good as was the Irish coffee… but served in a wine glass.
Excellent. I’ve been to Kitty Hoynes many times, and always have a great meal. The prices are super-reasonable considering what you get (and they always have a special/sale on certain beers and whiskeys). I finally tried the back bacon and cabbage meal based on Jake’s recent review, and it was the most tender piece of meat and most flavorful sauce I’ve ever had. I know that in Ireland, they do the back bacon (which is more like ham than bacon) and cabbage rather than corned beef as we do here. Incredible food, great service, awesome atmosphere. This is my favorite Irish pub in Syracuse, hands down. (Al’s might still be my favorite bar, just to be fair!)
Been going there forever. Finally gave in. Had back bacon dinner. Was great!! Leanest most tender piece of ham you could have. Waitress was great. Cook came out And asked how it was. He stated that this was the traditional irish meal, not corned beef. Highly recommended by a picky cook 🙂
Erin go bragh. A lovely place with friendly service and may be the closest you ever get to Ireland so go! Flight to Ireland is my favorite thing on the beverage menu, and watching the Orange men play on the big screen is a treat, too. All the food is Excellent….cannot go wrong with kitty hoynes.
