Not to my expectations. There is very little difference between their cake and any supermarket cake, like Shop Rite or Stop and Shop. The high content of sugar and sweet corn syrup proves it. When I took the first bite, hoping to taste a cake, all I had was an intensive sugar bite. Might as well take a full scoop of sugar and eat it. I think this is just a commercialized recipe. I wonder, if 60 years ago, when Valencia started, we had corn syrup in the bakeries. The cake did not seem to be fresh, it also had a refrigerator smell. Of course, the watery and sugary syrup makes feel soft, but is not enough to fix it.
