We had just had fish fries two nights ago so I didnt expect my wife to agree to stopping here on our way to a show at Proctors. But when I told her it was also a fish market so there would be a choice of different fresh fish in a food court atmosphere, it was enough to peak her interest and agree. The menu is simple with only 5 prepared offerings, and whatever may be on the Specials board. But the back of the menu suggests you try building your own. Start by choosing the vessel (field greens; corn tortilla; lettuce cups; poboy roll), then select your protein (cod; house smoked salmon; oysters; shrimp; scallops; ahi tuna; swordfish), next select your 3 toppings (cucumber; tomato; romaine; red onion; salsa; cabbage slaw; pickled veggies; capers), and finally your sauces & dressings (cocktail; tartar; remoulade; mayo; grainy mustard; ketchup; sun dried tomato vinaigrette; red wine Dijon vinaigrette; carrot ginger dressing; ranch). Now that gives you a lot of flexibility. My wife selected from the days Specials and had Smoked Trout (substituting field greens for the poboy roll) with romaine, capers, red onion, and lemon dill aioli ($12). It was a wonderfully delicious combination of flavors with a good amount of trout. Two thumbs up from us.I decided to try the Lobster Roll ($15 cold version) with tarragon mayo, celery, and lemon. I also selected a side of broccoli salad with dried cranberries. Im not a lobster roll aficionado. I cant recall when or where I last had one. But I do enjoy a properly cooked, fresh lobster tail occasionally. I was quite pleased with the preparation of this dish. While my wife thought it looked small for the money, I think it was because the roll was slightly smaller than a standard hot dog roll. But the roll was really fresh and warm. A goodly amount of lobster was stuffed into the roll, and there was just enough mayo and celery to add a complementary flavor and texture. The broccoli salad was nice also with just a few cranberries to slightly sweeten it.Im sure well return to try some other dishes and to pick up some fresh fish to take home for our own preparation.
