Fresh fresh fresh!. We had the pleasure of dining here the other night and must say we were pleasantly surprised! The sushi was incredibly fresh, something you would expect at a real top notch place, like say, Sushi Nanase, who refused to let us sit because we were missing one in our party. :(That took us to Azuma, were the sushi and the service was spectacular. The hamachi rivaled some of the greater sushi bars in Manhattan.Great Job, Azuma!
Choice Chirashi. The chirashi deluxe is sublime. There was all kinds of fresh pickles and veggies to go along with the melt in your mouth sashimi. The quantity of fish was plentiful and I could taste the freshness of each piece. Especially the salmon roe. I ate each one piece by piece and let them explode in my mouth. They’re addicting! This is turning into my go to spot for lunch.
This place is a real experience!. How did I not find this place earlier?! I thought that I knew what good sushi was. No, I thought I was a connoisseur of sushi. Well apparently I didn’t know squat about sushi UNTIL I tried Azuma Sushi! Its definitely hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had in Westchester. Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious. It was so good it gave me a boner! You can tell this place takes its sushi extremely seriously.
The quest for good sushi continues. So my SO is a huge fan of Sushi, and as recent transplants from Seattle, she has expressed a longing for good sushi. This place was recommended to us. It was a small, clean restaurant. Very quiet. We ordered a sashimi plate, miso soup, Sunonomo salad with crab and octopus, fried soft-shell crab, an eel roll, and a spicy tuna roll. The miso soup was not good. The salad and the crab were excellent. The sashimi was very nicely prepared and presented. The fish tasted fresh. The California roll that came with the sashimi was mostly a huge chunk of avocado rolled in rice. The other rolls were good and had a nice ratio of filling to rice. The service was mostly good. We had to ask for the plum wine the SO requested twice. But they were otherwise very attentive and we enjoyed the service. What tiiped us from positive to negative on this place was the price. It is really pricey. Perhaps too pricey for what you get. Ultimately, we thought there was not enough bang for the buck. In summary- well prepared, tasty sushi that you pay a premium price for. We will sample the other sushi restaurants around the region and if no one beats the quality/ price ration, we will be back. 8/10
