Thanksgiving Dinner Rip-off. This was my third and most likely last Thanksgiving dinner at HoH. The food was good (not great this year) and the service left nothing to complain about until it came to pay the bill. First, we were charged adult menu prices for the four children at the table, which I find very odd, but that was quickly corrected after pointing it out. What I didn’t know at the time was that my wife had to pay $50 deposit to reserve the table. That was nowhere found on the bill and we simply forgot in the moment to ask for it. A week later my wife pointed this out to me and I contacted Harvest several times, by phone and email, but have not heard anything back. Poor customer service.
Loved it. Went on a Thursday night without reservations and was able to sit outside. We were told if we wanted to sit inside we would have to wait. Me and my friend shared the truffle honey ricotta, bacala fritters, and some baked smoked mozzarella ball for appetizers. We also shared the arugula pizza and I had the endive and pear salad. For dessert we spilt a apple cinnamon crepe with gelato. I had a patronita to drink. Excellent!!!! My fav were the truffle honey ricotta; could eat that by the tablespoon full, the bacala fritters, and the pizza. I’d prob pass on the salad next time. The baked smoked mozzarella was good but only while it was hot. As it cooled down, I didn’t enjoy the texture. Dessert was amazing. Also, if you enjoy a tequila and jalapeos, the patronita is not to be missed. It’s sooooo good. Pricey but worth it.
Had a reservation for 8:30 was told that we would have to wait 20 min for inside. And an hour for outside. Also that the table that would be for us was on desert.. Well we heard them say that to everyone who checked in. After waiting 40 minutes for a table we were told that there was an outside table now and we would have to wait for an inside table. Ieven though it was June 16 th it was uncomfertably cold on the patio. There were 3 outdoor heaters and we did ask for them to be turned on. We were told. That they discontinued their delivery of proane and could not start the heaters.Them why leave them out in full view? To sum it up, the wait was inexcusable, the service was unsatisfactory, and the food was very good, but not worth coming back for. Service was poor.
Mixed experiences. I am a local and ate here several times. The experience and service was different each time. I once made a reservation for a dinner for two for my husband’s birthday. It was not a good experience. The waiter clumsy, maybe a local high school kid without clue. The surroundings loud. I did not like the wine and for the simple italian style food we ate, this place was way too overpriced. On a different occasion I brought guests in winter who ate steak. The high ceiling ambiente and fireplace were great. The noise level was ok and the waiter seemed a bit more trained. Still this place is rather homey country style italian than an elegant eatery with fine dining. Best for big groups than couples looking for romantic dinners. Great the vegetable garden with unique veggies to look at if you eat outside in summer. We once ate a very modest tasting and looking ice cream outside in the bar area. It took endless to come and cost a fortune.
Awesome. Amazing! The food is phenomenal. My friend had her bat mitzvah party here, and it was ideal. Big space for guests, not to mention the fabulous food!! `Nuff said 🙂
Good for Drinks. Great view, lovely garden, have a drink and then head back up the hill for dinner at Buffet de la Gare.
Romance on the Hudson. From cocktails in the garden while awaiting our outdoor table on the terrace to the after dinner drink again in the garden, it was the most romantic dinner had in years. Food was delicious and prepared perfectly, the wait staff attentive but not intrusive, and the setting right on the Hudson would speak for itself.
