Lovely Anniversary Dinner. We went to Harvest on Hudson for our anniversary and had a wonderful dinner. It is a beautiful restaurant and the food was all very good. Our waiter was not the best but otherwise it was great.
Bit of a dump. A view of the Hudson (brown and rivery) is the only thing going for this place. Cavernous food mill with tired decor churning out sub-par food at inflated prices. Service was patchy but acceptable. Food was bland, poorly contrived and unbalanced. Tomato and buffalo mozzarella completely tasteless and unseasoned. Stuffed chicken under-seasoned and overcooked. Came with three onions and two mushrooms. No other vegetables or carbs. Green salad, was just a plate of greens. Flourless chocolate cake and nutella gelato was good, but too late to rescue an otherwise unacceptable meal. At $90 per head, not including drinks, I expect more. I can’t imagine why anyone would go back.
Uh-May-Zing! Carpaccio, oysters, giant Vodka-Tonics… I can’t even remember it all. 9-courses of heaven at the hands of Chef Vincent Barcelona and his wonderful staff. Best birthday party ever. EH-VER!Only critique… a heliport would allow a faster trip from Manhattan. 🙂
