HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Went with my family, eager to see the place after the remodeling.Only good think I can say is place looks very nice.New prices – they now charge RIDICULOUSLY high prices considering quality and quantity of food. Almost $20 for a bowl of pasta, which was undercooked (needed more time just to get to al-dente) and under-seasoned. No salad with entrees, adding insult to injury considering the price.Wait staff atrocious – they messed up and my young daughter wound up getting served last – staff at a family oriented establishment should know to take care of the kids first. Waiters never checked for drink refills or asked how the food was (perhaps they knew better not to ask…) I went with my entire family, so a very undeserved 18% gratuity was built in due to head count.Everyone at the table felt ripped off; no one had anything good to say.I liked the old place – I grew up in the area and Pizza & Brew was a nice inexpensive night out with friends or a date.TGI Friday’s is just a few footsteps north – spend your hard earned dollars there – you’ll thank me later.I will never make the mistake of patronizing this establishment again.
I’m in love!!!. Racanelli’s New York is my new favorite place! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the food is amazing. My husband and I have been there four times since they’ve opened and we haven’t been disappointed. Everything we’ve tried has been delicious and everything is so fresh. Not too mention the drinks are wonderful as well. You have to try the Staten Island, it’s my favorite. The service is great as well. Whether we go for a full dinner or have a few drinks and some appetizers at the bar, we will be spending a lot of time at our new favorite restaurant. Those that have negative things to say must have accidentally walked into TGI Friday’s a few doors down, because this restaurant is fantastic!
Great meal at Racanelli’s!. I had dinner with two friends last night and it was a wonderful experience. Service was very attentive without being pushy, and our dishes were delicious. Definitely order the tiramisu – it’s worth it!
Delish!. Racanelli’s New York Italian is my new favorite restaurant! Absolutely delicious food, high quality with a beautiful combination of flavors. As soon as you walk through the doors, you feel like youre in NYC. The decor is beautiful. We started with rice balls that melt in your mouth. I had the veal and it was cooked perfectly. My wife had the pasta with ribs and ragu which was amazing. We will definitely be back!
AWESOME!!!. Racanelli’s New York Italian was a magnificent experience. The new restaurant is visually stunning – a little slice of NYC in Scarsdale!!! We had rice balls that were just like my grandmother used to make- DELICIOUS!!! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
A taste of Manhattan in Westchester!. My husband and I brought our two year old son and my parents for dinner when Racanelli’s New York Italian first opened. We were immediately impressed with the renovations, which were very much needed! We often frequented the restaurant when it was Pizza and Brew and all agreed that we found the new layout much more pleasing! The restaurant is open and airy, it has a Manhattan feel and we’re excited to visit when the warm weather comes and they can open the front windows, which look like glass garage doors. While, I do understand people questioning the restaurant as a family restaurant based solely on the beautiful new appearance, I have to say that we were very comfortable dining with our two year old! The restaurant had a lively feel and the staff was very welcoming to our little one! The waitstaff was very attentive and so sweet to my son. They made sure to get his pizza out quickly, which was so good with the fresh mozzarella! My father said the grilled octopus was so perfectly cooked, you could cut it with a fork. My husband loved his clams oreganata. I had chicken piccata, my mother ate the sole francese, both of which were delicious. My husband and father both had the parpadelle bolognese and are still talking about how good it was! I understand people having a hard time with change, but change is good and in this case, change is WONDERFUL! Do yourself a favor and check out this new take on a classic, you won’t be disappointed!
Great food & atmosphere!. Decided to check out the newly renovated Racanelli’s NY Italian with my family. We all shared and tried different things (pizza, appetizers, entree’s and dessert). I must say, everything we had was delightful and the atmosphere was very welcoming! I personally loved the clams oregonata, the calamari, the Strozzapreti (AWESOME) and the tiramisu! There isn’t anything quite like this place in the area, it’s perfect for a night out with your significant other or with the family.
