I went in hungry and walked out hungry. I went to Carmen’s restaurant today with my girlfriend and she ordered the cubano I ordered the picadillo. Service was mixed because the waitress was on her own, she forgot to bring us water and just needs some training, she was friendly but did not have the skills of a waitress. Rule number one always put water on the table, this affirms to the customer that he’s allready been served so he can’t leave now. As for the food. I ordered a picadillo for 9 dollars and I got 4 tablespoons of plain white rice, next to 4 tablespoons of plain cooked brown beans and next to the brown beans 4 tablespoons of seasoned ground cooked beef. Rice 10 cents + beans 15 cents + ground beef 50 cents does not equal $9 worth of food. Now both me and my girlfriend agreed that the food was good but the stinginess on the portions will not have me running back especially if I’m hungry.

Delicious and authentic. We celebrated our daughters first communion here and it was perfect. The food was amazing, completely authentic and we felt like we were with family. We cant wait to go back.

Delicious food, unbelievably s-l-o-w!. I ate at Carmen’s on a Saturday, after the busy time — it was less than half full. It took and hour to get our food! The water we asked for was never served to us. We weren’t given utensils until after our food arrived and we had to ask for them. We had to wait for the bill. We had to wait for our payment to be taken, and to get change back. There were two servers in the room — both were not attentive, although they were quite friendly. There were two people in the kitchen. The food was excellent, but the wait was very, very, very long — with no apparent reason or apology.
