Located within one of the stalls at the Troy Kitchen, is a very reasonably priced Mexican purveyor that is serving up fresh, good tasting food. Many people are already familiar with Magdalenas from either their Saturday morning visits to the Troy Farmers Market, or to their other location in Valatie. My wife chose a Pork Taco ($3) and a Chicken Tamale ($5) with pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, and hot salsa. The taco is served on a soft corn tortilla and includes some guacamole, lettuce and salsa inside, and a few taco chips on the side. It was very tasty. The tamale, while just a bit dry by itself, was just fine and delicious topped with shredded cheese and salsa and with the accompanying sides. The two combined were quite filling.I chose to try a Quesadilla ($10) with chipotle chicken and sides of rice with beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. While the chipotle was not very spicy, it was another tasty combination that was quite filling. For beverages, we got a couple of drafts ($7/pint) from the Troy Kitchen bar. They offer a nice variety, including our choices of Common Roots IPA and Hell or High Watermelon wheat ale from 21st Amendment.
