Consistent, good, diner food. Still known as Texas lunch to locals, while there is nothing memorable or exceptional here, its definitely the best diner in the Kingston / ulster area.
Always pleasant and accomodating
Five star diner. If you’re like me and like the option of breakfast all day, then this is the place for you. They have one of the largest selections of breakfast I’ve ever seen and you won’t be disappointed. I’ve tried pretty much everything from the chocolate chip pancakes to the florentine omelette. My absolute favorite though would be the corned beef hash and eggs. If breakfast anytime of the day is not your thing, well try the buffalo chicken wrap for lunch. Its AMAZING. If you stop in for dinner, then try the Hudson Pulled Pork. It’s loaded with tender shredded pork in an awesome bbq sauce. Having only moved to Kingston two years ago its hard to find good places to eat that you can keep on going back to. The KVD is one of those places where the atmosphere is just right. The waitstaff is friendly, the prices are excellent, and on any given day you will run into one of the owners. They are so friendly and welcoming and always quick with a smile and a hello. This is one place I will never get tired of going for a bite to eat. I highly recommend giving this family-run diner a try and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Amazing place to eat!. I don’t know what the last two people to review this place are talking about. I live in Kingston and have been going to this diner almost once a week for either breakfast, lunch or dinner for the last 3 years. The service has always been amazing, the food is always delicious and the owner has always been kind and courteous!
Poor service, cold food. Had the worst experience in my life on 7-31-11. Go to the other more friendly places in the area instead
Owner is a JERK. Food is alright, prices are expensive, waitstaff is fine. But the owner is a jerk, and he is usually parked behind the counter. On a good day is just ignores his paying customers. On a usual day he is harassing them. Avoid this place at all costs if you want a nice experience.
Fantastic!!!. My family and I ate breakfast at the Kings Valley Diner on Saturday 7/25/09 before heading over the see the Old Reinbeck Aerodrome. We chose Kings Valley because the parking lot was packed and we thought the place had to be good. We were not disappointed. I had the 3 egg ham and cheese omelette and it was great served with home fried potatoes. The coffee was the best coffee I have ever drank. My wife had the Philly Cheese Steak and my son had a Cheese burgar. The service was great. The management was very professional and polite. If you are in the area and are looking for a great meal at a great price, do not miss this place. Definitely try the coffee.
