  Disappointed customer. I was at don coqui at white plains New York on Friday November 7th for a friends birthday. When I went to close my bill and pay it the bartender informed me that she had lost my driver license and debit card. They kept me waiting for over and hour and they never recover my card and ID, the bartender told me that I wasn’t going to get charge for the bill which it was around $27.00. They still charged me for the bill, I called the following day and spoke to a manager and explain the situation, she told me she was heading to her office and that she would call me right back, she took my number and almost a week later she never called me back… I’m not asking for a free drink or a meal but I rather they be a bit more professional.. I will never go back to that stablishment…

  2 Strikes and You’re Out – Horrible. I’ve been to this location twice and both times I was not pleased what so ever.First time I went with two co-workers and the service wasn’t great and the food wasn’t good at all. I had ropa vieja and it was not even close to what I expected. The service lacked a lot which shocked us because the place wasn’t even that busy. When we finally received our coffee after waiting about 10-15 minutes – it’s very cold. Do not understand why it took so long if when we received it it was cold! Since it was only a week after their grand opening, my coworker and I decided to give them a second chance.We each purchased a groupon and hoped that Don Coqui would be a lot better this time around. Once again we were disappointed but this time worse than before. As soon as we got there we sat for about 10 minutes, when we noticed that we were not given a menu. WE had to go up to the hostess and tell her. The waiter never greeted us or showed any hospitality. Every time we needed something we had to get up and walk over to the hostess or wave to the her. The hostess had to take our lunch orders because still no waiter came. We received our lunch but never received our sweet plantains which we requested with our meal selection. Throughout the course of eating still no waiter and apparently the bus boys does not speak any English or Spanish because we requested the sweet plantains to two different individuals and still nothing. When it came down to paying we had to tell the hostess we wanted our check AND then is when the waiter appeared. We were told we were not allowed to use two groupons and if we wanted to speak to the manager we can do so. Apparently the hostess was the manager which was not stated until we had many issues. Only then when we were ready to pay is when we were told we can only use one groupon per table. That wasn’t even the problem for us. The problem was that no one seemed to want to work or help in any way possible. All problems and no solutions. We were given the opportunity to receive free drinks or additional dessert and etc but that’s after the point. We were already 20 minutes late back to work because of the constant waiting and were not willing to wait more.

  Good 3 Star restaurant. I went with about 10 family members, the restaurant is white, big and clean and the waiters were nice and helpful. They have good selection and the food was good but not great and serve big portions.We ordered about 50 mixed drinks but the first 7 mojitos were horrible and missing Rum tasted like virgen mojitos, I am an older spanish guy and had hundreds of mojitos all over and my family members agreed with me and we sent them all back to put the right amount of Rum that we paid for.I don’t know if the owner or the management asked the bartenders to cheat with the drinks to make more money or the bartenders are playing smart assuming nobody will notice or complaint. I complained to the manager and he said will look into that problem.We spent $900 which was like 60% on drinks and we just want what we paid for.There is room for improvements and hope they listen to clients if they want to be in business long time and get return clients which they can recommend friends and family or not. Dishes and drinks are on the expensive side as well compared to similar restaurants.The restaurant doesn’t have parking and can be hard to find parking on the street of on parking lots near by.The one in New Rochelle is a little better.

  Me and my husband we were so excited to this restaurant at wp and we came at mothers day, drinks are the best!!!! The food… Not good, the service even worse the waitress has not clue of what shes doing, she was charging us for food we didnt had, and for the whole time we were there the runners or bus boys were keep bringing food and asking us if we order every single dish!!!!! And 20% gratuity for a party of 4? Thats legal? I dont know., dont bother to come again everrrrr

  Not bad but the noise level is high and being charged five dollars for a cup of coffee really turns me off…that most likely cost you a customer.

  My friend and I went to this restaurant since she was excited to check it out. The atmosphere was nice. I ordered Ropa Vieja [shredded beef stew.] for 19 dollars. And a Pia Colada. The meat looked very unappetizing. It was served in a big messy mushy pile. The beef was very soggy, salty, and over seasoned with what seemed like 2 heads of garlic. I could barely eat half of it. I’ve had this dish before elsewhere and this was the worst. And for 19 dollars, it’s definitely not worth it. The service was great, inviting atmosphere. However I will not go there again.
