Holiday Delight. Mulino’s We like to go here during Christmas because it is always decorated very festive. This year was no different, the decorations have changed somewhat from the last time I was here (several years ago) but it is still a delight.Within minutes of sitting down a server came around with a big block of parmesan cheese and dried sausage. Within minutes of that came the green beans/onions in a tomato based marinade and some bruschetta. This was all before we got our menu. Nice start. We ordered drinks and my lemon drop martini was very good. I have to say the service here was excellent throughout the evening (and they were busy). For appetizers we ordered spiedino a la Romana. This was excellent. We also got a Ceasar salad to share. On the menu this is described as Mulino’s Famous Ceasar Salad, there is nothing famous about this salad, it was underdressed and lackluster. In a place like this they should be doing a table side presentation with very fresh romaine. Points off for the salad. For dinner I got the the gamberi fradiavolo served over pasta and while this was good – though not stellar – and a generous size portion, I don’t think it was worth the $34.00 they were charging for it. DH got Medaglioni di Maiale which is Filet mignon of pork medallions sauteed and with vinegar peppers, white wine and a touch of brown sauce. He enjoyed the meal but ended up eating half of mine because he didn’t get $30.00 worth of pork. We ended the evening with a very creamy creme brle and some espresso.
