A jewel in Getty Square. First off, plan on valet parking (it’s free), it will make life easier. You enter into the large lounge area with beautiful wood floors and brick walls. This area turned out to have a nice vibe later in the evening with a live jazz band but we proceeded into the dining room which is spacious and tables are not on top of each other. We went during restaurant week so we were offered both rmenus and opted for restaurant week $28.00 prix fixe menu. In addition we got the wine pairing with it for an additional $12.00 for 3 glasses (a glass paired with an appetizer/entree/dessert). I started with an amazing escarole salad with gorgonzola, candied walnuts, hudson valley apples and cranberries, oh if I could only make this stuff at home, but it’s all in the dressing. Others at the table had the calamari. Grilled on skewers with aromatic breadcrumbs and warm tomato concasse, I had a taste of this and it was very nicely done with the crunch of the breadcrumb. Another appetizer at the table was Luganica sausages and red grapes on top of lentils, I tried the lentils and they were very tasty. For my entree I got the herb crusted Wild Salmon with a wilted rughetta, Farro and sun dried tomato salad with lemon oil and balsamic, several of us got this dish and we all enjoyed it, I especially like the farro with it, the different textures really complimented each other. Also orered at the table was the Hudson Valley Flat Iron Steak, this was good but not spectacular. I got the Choclate Ganache Cake with rasberry sauce for dessert, very rich and dense like it should be, delicious. Also ordered at the table were the Zeppoles with Ameretto, Raspberry and Chocolate dipping sauces, these made you long for the summer Italian feasts. Also ordered was the Zuppa Inglese, I didn’t taste any of this but the person who got this didn’t really care for it. It was a lovely evening at a lovely restaurant.
Terrific Restaurant. Excellent food, great service, reasonable prices. I’d even recommend this place for parties. Parking is a problem so use the valet for a stress free dinning experience.
