Not good food. My friends and I came to Caffe Siena for Restaurant Week in Charlotte. I ordered the Vegetable Paella. It was extremely bland and the main vegetable was cauliflower. It was mushy like it had been cooked a while earlier and just sat until I ordered it. I could have made something much better at home and not had to pay out the nose for tiny portions. But the service was nice and even though it is in a hotel, the atmosphere was somewhat fancy.
If you Like Bland food Eat HERE. We tried this place for restaurant week and I really wish we had read the reviews on this before going. This place was awful. Everything we ordered was bland. Braised Beef Short Ribs Cannelloni – tasted like canned beef rolled in a paste tasting lasagna noodle. Sea Bass Cake – Only decent thing during the entire meal. Order two of these and make it a night. Chilean Sea Bass with Chorizo – pan-seared, with artichokes, fennel, bouillabaisse sauce, and cilantro – Seabass was cooked ok. Not seared enough and smothered in their supposed bouillabaisse. Nasty. Reminded me of the special sauce from McDonalds. Vegetables under the seabass were soggy in this sauce. A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!
Worst Restaurant in Uptown. If this restaurant wasn’t funded by Holiday Inn, it would have been closed the first 2 weeks of business. Nasty stuff.
The food was mediocre and oversauced. It’s in a hotel lobby. The waiter barely spoke English. On the plus side, the staff tries hard to make it a good experience.
