Favorite Wine Bar Turned Favorite Restaurant. I started out going to the Wooden Vine because it has an excellent wine list and the owner is a sommelier who really knows his wines. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy and is a comfortable place to share a nice glass of wine with a friend or two. But since they hired Nic Daniels as their chef, the food that comes out of the kitchen is consistently amazing! They change their menus with the seasons so they can utilize foods that are local and in season. I have attended their wine dinners and each one has been one of the best culinary and wine experiences I have ever had. You truly feel pampered with the finest. Their menu is rather adventurous but for those who like to stick to a more traditional menu they have things to satisfy all. Their desserts are usually deconstructed plays on retro desserts. Oh, and did I mention they have their own pastry chef? Whenever I want to take someone out to a restaurant that will impress, I bring them to the Wooden Vine.

Queen’s Feast a Flop.. First visit and last. For starters, I had the Crab soup which was under-seasoned. After asking for and adding salt, it tasted really good. Second, I ordered the Rabbit, again, under-seasoned, and very chewy. I had to ask for a steak knife because the butter knife (supplied) would not cut through it. The entire dish was cold and had no flavor. Disappointing, to the point that I did not want the dessert. I will say that the decor was very nice. Good selection of wine.

Phenomenal!!. Culinary artistry at its best! Great wine selection @ all price points & the value for the quality is outstanding. There is some serious talent in the kitchen, from concept to execution, I could not have been more impressed with this place. You could stop in for a quick bite of small plates (tapas) or experience some of the best entrees you can imagine. Highly recommended!

Great Experience at the Wooden vine. My girlfriend and I were in Charlotte for a quick night away. We strolled around downtown during dinnertime and came upon this place. Everything from the service (our server, Rod (I think) was knowledgeable, personable, and up front about everything on the menu) to the atmosphere was flawless. Our wine went perfectly with our food which included small portions of tremendously flavorful foods (Capresi salad, mojo verde, grilled grape salad, charcuterie plate, s’mores). It was timed perfectly for our evening as we sat outside on the sidewalk in downtown Charlotte. If you’re looking for delicious food with correct portions and a great time. Go here. Everything was fantastic.

Bad Experience / Pricing Error. Went to the Wooden Vine for the 1st and last time. Ordered a $28 bottle on wine. It was poured before the waitress saids oops I am sorry the price on the menu is wrong. This wine is actually $38. The HOB NOB is even listed as $28 on the website MENU.Many appetizers were ordered for 2. The appetizers came out to fast, before the table could even be cleared of empty plates and they were cold before they could be eaten. The meal was rushed when there was no wait for tables. The staff could use some training expecially for the price of small plates.I found the same bottle of wine at 300 East for $29.00. Seems to me we were ripped off.

Owner, Hampton Street Vineyard. What a great find for the four of us out of towners. Sat at the bar Saturday night enjoyed the smoked figs, rack of lamb, and scallops. Sarrah took great care of us and we will be back on our next visit to Charlotte.
