Gourmet Burgers on Wheels. At a Food Truck Rally in Rural Hill just north of Charlotte, Auto Burger and Fry Guys was a very plesant surprise.Food trucks generally have pretty good food, and their hallmark is being quick with no frills. Not the case with this one. Burgers are not just pretty good, they’re great with apologies to Tony the Tiger and as far as being quick, every burger is hand made and cooked to order so don’t expect anything within 15 minutes.I ordered the Bacon Blue Burger which is or course, a burger with Blue Cheese and Maple smoked bacon on it along with the other fixings. It’s difficult to get a medium rare burger in this area without it being overcooked. This one was perfect. Good reddish pink in the center, moist and juicy throughout and made with an excellent blend of meat. I’ve had much worst at more upscale, sit down restaurants in Vegas, Atlanta and other citeis.When I ordered the burger, I was told it would be 15 minutes and 15 minutes later when I walked back up, they wrere just pulling it off of the grill. Perfect timing on my part but it also shows they have got this down to a science.The fries I ordered with the Burger where better than average, just not great but on a Food Truck, it’s hard to create the ultimate French Fry because of limited controls on cooking conditions.At far as atmosphere, what can I say. It’s a food truck rally and everyone for themselves when it comes to picnic tables. It was a fun atmosphere and I would definately go again. Folks at the Auto Burger and friendly and they do an excellent job serving the public.
