Stopped at Bernardin’s for a business lunch with my co-workers today. The food and service were both just okay overall and prices were reasonable.I ordered the scallops, which come with a side of mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The scallops were inconsistently cooked- some were well seared and others weren’t and 3-4 of the 6 were fairly tough while the others were juicy and tender. They lacked seasoning, but the wine butter sauce was very strong (almost too strong of a wine taste). The mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables consisting of broccoli, zucchini, carrots, and green beans were decent but also exactly what you would expect. As for service, our waitress was fairly slow to take our order and was very slow to initially bring out our drinks and complimentary bread. She was pretty friendly though so no real complaints. The portions weren’t very big, but it was only $10-15 per dish with a nice atmosphere so basically what I expected.
Wonderful Food, Great service. It was my first time eating at Bernadin’s and the food was wonderful! The service was wonderful too.It won’t be my last time eating there.
Great food!. We went to Bernardin’s the other night for dinner and the food was really good. This is the second time we have been there andboth times we have had great meals. I had the shrimp and my husband had the scallops and both were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Calming ambiance. Went here for lunch after touring the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art across the street. Our waitress was very nice once she warmed up to us. I highly recommend everything I tried. It was all incredible! I started with the Goat Cheese Tart and followed that with the Sauted Medallion Scallops for my entree. I shared a Chocolate Torte with my husband. I had the Tropical Green tea to drink. Lunch prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served. Loved it and will return. Be sure to enjoy a stroll through The Green park adjacent to the restaurant when you are done.
Pretty Unorganized. Great place for a dinner, but for the Queens feast, they we’re un-prepared for us. Made a reservation and got there about 15 mins late, had to park down the street at the cost of 8.00 . Service was excellent when we got served. Drinks and food was outstanding, Just not the greatest for the Queens feast time.
Bernardin’s is hands down, a 5 star restaurant!. My wife and I ate there last night. We were in town for the weekend and wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dinner out. Boy were we amazed! The restaurant is located on Tryon St, but you wouldn’t know it once you enter the dining room. The restaurant is beautiful! Very well done! I had called and requested the window seat. Since it’s a table for 4, I didn’t think we would get it, being only a party of 2. Wouldn’t you know it, my request was granted. Thanks Chad! It’s the best seat in the place. We started with the fried gulf oyster app and it was out of this world, by far the best oysters I’ve ever had. No fishy taste or sand! Loved it! We also ordered the Tuna Tuna, definitely a must have if you like delicious tuna. For our entree, we split the Pan Roasted Curried Grouper. My mouth is still watering from it. Absolutely the best Grouper I’ve ever had! I love mint chutney, so I asked for a little more and wow it was delicious. Nothing bad to say at all. Our server, Taylor, was very attentive and made sure we got exactly what we needed. I’ve been to many restaurants across the country and this is right up there with some of the best in NYC and Las Vegas. All in all, I give Bernardin’s a 5 star rating. Romantic setting, delicious food and excellent service! Just what you would expect and more. We will be back soon, just not soon enough!
Tasty and great service. We’re here for the Wells Tourney and decided on Bernardin’s for one night dinner. Martini’s great, nice wine selection. Crab cake starter was delish. Grouper as main for me…salmon for wife…both fresh with great sauce/ sides.Got a seat on the balcony, great view. Oh yeah, asked for desert ( chocolate tort with coffee) for outside. They tried but chairs were locked up. Had at bar instead, no problem for them. All a great experience.
