Our food was excellent! It was freshly prepared, hot and plentiful. We were amazed at the amount of food for such little cost. The menu has plenty to choose from. There are chicken entres, bbq, salads, exotic meat burgers and many seafood options. We had the Sea Lovers platter, Shrimp & Flounder and Shrimp dinner. The food was really good as well as the service. Our waitress was friendly and took good care of our needs.
Pretty Much Middle of the Road Chow. This locally owned restaurant serves rather ordinary food in hugh portions in a quick and friendly manner. Since the portions are so large this is a value meal location for sure. The interior of the restaurant is a little worn, but it is clean and bright, with a dash of funky thrown in.The menu here is broad with salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes, ribs, chicken, steak, burgers, and lots of seafood choices, fried or broiled. The daily specials are nice especially the seafood choices and the chicken tenders. We tried the Fried Popcorn Shrimp Tuesday Special ($5.39) and The Flounder & Shrimp Large Plate ($7.50). Each came with slaw, a choice of potato, and Hushpuppies. The Fried Shrimp were pretty good, fried well, with good flavor. The Fried Flounder was not the freshest I’ve encountered. The portions, as I said, are enormous especially for the price, and the daily special are true values. I saw some plates of Chicken Tenders (another Tuesday Daily Special) being served that were massive – looked like nearly a half chicken worth. The Slaw is really sweet, and wet. The FFs are truly horrible, and the Hushpuppies are ok, but nothing special. The service here is excellent – you are checked on regularly, and your glass is never close to empty.Might drop in again if in the area, but not a destination spot in my book.
Decent food. Huge potions for the price. Ribs and pork chops were good. Didn’t try the seafood, but seems to be mostly deep fried.
Never had anything good there. The fish taste like it came out of a polluted river
Awesome food at a great price!. My friend and I came by here for a late lunch after spending the day at Asheboro Zoo. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. She ordered a grilled chicken dish that came with a huge salad and I ordered a blue plate lunch special of friend flouder that came with hushpuppies and fries. It was less than $5 but it was more food on the plate than I could handle! I was more than satisfied. I’d definitely go back there again the next time I hit Asheboro Zoo.
