  Unacceptable. We went to Dixie express to try the food there. We always got the milkshakes but never the food. So we get there and we can barely understand her over the speaker and she was complicating all of the questions. So we ordered our meal. We wait 5 minutes in a drive thru line!! That is rediculous. And then when we get home we open the food and we asked for a plain hamburger and we got one with all of this junk on it that we did not ask for. The fries did not taste good and were cold. We also saw someone at the wall up and saw that he waited outside in the cold for five minutes and no one came so he ended up knocking politely a few times and they finally came. I was displeased a lot and I would like it if they would refund us or at least give us coupons. The only thing they did right was the milkshakes.

  Something Never Seem To Change. Same old, same old – thank goodness! The food here remains excellent – the Cheeseburger is as good as any diner style burger you’ll find in this area, probably the whole state.Same for the Hot Dog – the chili is super, meaty & full flavored. The Onion Rings are right back up there with the very best, maybe only surpassed by The Old Sharkeys in Burlington. The size of the onion rind portion has declined, for sure, but they aregood.The Fries are not my personal favorites because they’re the seasoned kind, but lots of folks really like them. The Chicken Sandwich here is really nice, better than any chain.Yet another place I wish was in Greensboro. It’s take out only, and that’s almost always a good sign.29 May, 2011Size Doesn’t Always Matter. WOW!: This tiny drive-thru serves one of the best southern chili dogs I’ve ever eaten. They serve a quality wiener, toasted bun, and a meaty chili with some heat. There hamburger is excellent too – it is large and seem to be hand formed. The onion rings are excellent, but the fries are not my favorite because they’re the seasoned type – never have understood the need for that. Strictly a drive-thru, but at least there are 2 windows here, the only seating is outside.

  Quick quality.. As far as burgers and hot dogs are concerned, there is no better place in Asheboro than Dixie Express. If you want a classic southern burger or hotdog (chili, slaw, mustard) and a great milkshake, this is the best spot in town. Cookout often gets the easy and quick nod, but for a fantastic meal… do yourself a favor and swing through Dixie Express.
