I’ve eaten there twice both times I have been underwhelmed by the food, the chicken was boiled not baked and the side dishes do not seem to be liked by all.

Classic Southern. Love it. Classic menu I don’t eat a lot of catfish but their’s deep fried is great (corn meal batter- best texture ever) Some of the best BBQ sauce around (Classic Western Carolina Style). Solid southern sides- turnip greens, fried squash, fried okra, and the best hushpuppies I’ve ever had. Lovely staff that treats you just like family. don’t let the price fool you, just get in there Cash only, closed on weekends

Down Home Food. This place serves some pretty good country cooking, and at reasonable prices. And it is easy to tell that because it fills up early for lunch, with a large number of seasoned citizens leading the way.All the country cooking items, meats and veggies are very good, especially the CS Steak. My wife likes their Spaghetti, and it is tasty. They also make a decent hot dog, not the best in town, but decent. The burger is quite good, prefer it to the dog.The service here seems always to be very good, even when it gets alittle crowded, and it does get crowded at lunch. If you like good Southern food at reasonable prices, you may want to give this place a shot.
