No Sky Rockets, But Some Decent Choices. This restaurant is more of a diner/meat & 3 place than it is a true NC BBQ joint – but the Lexington style barbecue served here isn’t half bad. There was a location in Greensboro about 10 years back which had some of the worst food, BBQ and otherwise, I had encountered outside a 3rd World Country – it closed to popular approval years age. This is the original, and the food served here is nice – not blow your socks off great, but nice.The Chili Dog has a generous amount of rich, flavorful chili. The wiener is decent, the bun soft – this is a pretty good dog – I’d definitely order again. The Chopped BBQ Sandwich is of good size, and the pork is tender, moist, and clean of debris. This is Lexington style so the sauce is mild, and a touch on the sweet side, and the slaw is the red BBQ Slaw typical of the area – they make a good combination here. I’d also order the BBQ sandwich again.Folks are friendly here – owner thanks you for your business, which is a nice touch. 3 meals a day here, with breakfast and lunch pretty active times. And they have a Drive Thru, as well.
