House of the Rising Suns. Ashamed to say that its taken us nearly six months to check out the food cart scene here in Asheville. Especially considering what a huge part of our dining lives the carts in Portland played when we lived there. Anyhow, dropped by The Lot, (downtown) for some pho but changed our minds when we discovered that there are no picnic tables or anywhere that you could set your food down to eat. So while the wife ordered a baan mi I wandered over to the other carts, spying their menus. 3 Suns sounded too good to pass up and after the dude running things forked me a sample of his chicken curry, I was in. I got it in a bowl (also available as a wrap) with some jasmine rice, sunflower seeds and baby greens (?, I think). Regardless, damn good stuff, and the portion was just the right size, as was the price ($6). I will certainly keep tabs on where he sets up shop in the future, as every item on the menu was singing my particular tune. Grade: A- (get that truck over to W.
