I chose Biscuit Head for my last meal in Asheville before heading home. My friend and I arrived a little after 8:30. There was not a wait so we perused the menu and went to the counter to order. It was both of our first time there and the girl at the counter was friendly and answered all of our questions. I ordered the mimosa chicken biscuit and Sally got the fried green tomato biscuit. We split an order of bacon and moon fries. They gave us a number and glasses for our drinks and found an empty table near the window. Our food did not take long and the portions were huge! These were not hand held biscuits. You need a knife and fork. Sally really liked her breakfast, and I wanted to like mine more than I did. The chicken was dark meat, which surprisingly wasnt greasy, but I prefer white meat. Also, our breakfast wasnt hot. The slaw and sweet potato butter made everything just warm. I ended up deconstructing my sandwich and went up to the jam bar for butter, honey and raspberry jam to put on my biscuit. There were so many to chose from, everything off the bar I tried was good. They had several gravies that sounded intriguing as well.I will definitely try Biscuit Head again.
After many recommendations from friends to come here during our time in Asheville we decided we had to try it. We pulled in and there was a line out the door which is always promising. We shared the brisket biscuit ($10). It was tasty and a great combination of flavors. I’m not usually a big fan of eating breakfast out due to the simplicity of the food and the big mark ups, but they do an awesome job here at creating lots of flavor!
This is a down home dinner with a artsy flairThe food is fantastic. Met locals here who recommended this place ans this is the best location of the two in town. People waited out in the rain to get a table. Food was to die for as well as the home made jams and jellies at the bar. Highly recommend this place.
Love love love the food here. It was everything I wanted and more. Best fried green tomatoes I’ve ever had. I love how you can totally customize your breakfast. You don’t have to get whatever someone else thinks will good well with your eggs.
Nothing like this place! Homemade biscuits (gf ones too), tons of gravy options, unique flavors profiles and a butter bar. Not to mention local coffee in random mugs, and great ambiance. My favorite dish is a tie between the pork biscuit and the fried chicken biscuit (not gf…but delish).
