Not mama’s country breakfast. If you like long waits for service and food with spices you never thought of in a breakfast dish, this is the place for you. Gravey was made not using any renderings tasted a little like flour, milk and a little pepper. However, if you just need coffee you in luck, this place has good coffee.
My friends and I were walking all over downtown Asheville trying to find a place that was still serving breakfast at 1pm when we found this little gem. The food was amazing, the coffee was self-serve and delicious with a variety to choose from, and the service was wonderful, extremely kind and generous! My new favorite restaurant downtown!! 🙂
Ordered the Huevos Rancheros and a simple plate with homefries, eggs, meat and toast in a basically empty restaurant. While the service was friendly, it was not at all prompt.After an hour and a half and an acceptable Huevos Rancheros dish (although seriously, using tortilla chips out of a bag? Don’t do that again, please) and a really basic breakfast dish, we finally were out of there.This is not a place where you want to go when you have needy kids or you’re in a rush but the Huevos Rancheros could be stellar if they drop the chips and do some real tortillas in the future.
Cute. Espressos were good but it is a bit fancy for my taste. They bring your stuff to the table. We had already eaten and just had coffee. Everybody else got their bills at the table. When we were done with our coffee we were told we can pay at the bar.
Eggstacy. Great eggs, yogurt & granola, and huevos rancheros… very friendly staff. One of the best breakfasts in town.
Downtown Delight. My wife and I have been regulars 1-3 times a week for 3 years. Beats the competition hands down with excellent, friendly, attentive service and tasty, fresh food presented nicely. Everything on the menu is delicious and worth a try. Great selection of teas and coffees, too.
